Update: theses changes appear to be regional
Update: Noob reader Ed says he received word that April 3rd would be the last day
Update: Now there are people reporting April 4th as the last day
I’m traveling today, so I will have to make this short.
@ringsthecaddy tweeted recently that CVS was going to stop allowing Vanilla Reload cards (and other reload cards) to be purchased with a credit card on 3/31. He even included an image of a memo a manager gave him at his local CVS in Florida.
I’m currently out of the country so I can’t run to my local CVS hot spots, but from what I’ve been reading online, there are other locations with the same information. And then there are some CVS stores that haven’t heard anything about this.
I’m hoping this is just a regional roll out, but only time will tell.
You can still buy Visa gift cards that have a pin and load them into Bluebird.
I wish I was able to test this out, but can’t at the moment, so if you have any experience, please comment below!
